Jesus Is Baptized

Jesus walked to a big river called the Jordan. Splash, splash! His relative John was there, helping people get ready for God.

Jesus asked John to baptize him in the water. John said that Jesus should baptize him instead! But Jesus said yes, this is what God wants.

So down into the water went Jesus, and up he came again. Drip, drip, drip!

Then the sky opened up. A white dove flew down, soft and gentle, and rested on Jesus. It was the Holy Spirit. A voice from heaven said that Jesus is God's own dear Son.

In Baptism, God makes us his children too. God loves you!
