God Makes the World
Genesis 1:1–2:3
Long, long ago, before anything was here, there was only God.
God spoke, and light shone out! Swish went the sky. Splash went the sea. Up came trees and flowers.
God hung the sun in the day sky, and the moon and stars in the night sky. Twinkle, twinkle!
God made fish to swim, birds to fly, and animals to hop and roar.
Then God made people, to know him and love him. God looked at everything he had made, and he was very happy.
God made you, too. God loves you so much!
